EARLY DAYS

The first exhibition of Canadian indigenous art to circulate internationally, Early Days: Indigenous Works from the McMichael Canadian Art Collection is presented exclusively in Quebec at the MNBAQ. Orchestrated by the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, in collaboration with indigenous people – academic specialists, custodians of traditional knowledge and living artists – the exhibition brings together historic art and works by contemporary artists from across Canada.

Paprika has signed the exhibition’s promotional campaign with a typographic block featuring the written languages of six of the indigenous communities taking part in the exhibition. Paying meticulous attention to the writing of these languages and their transposition onto white canvas, the proposal participates in the rewriting of First Nations history. The campaign features a selection of works from the exhibition’s extensive corpus, all set to music by legendary Inuk singer-songwriter and director Elisapie.
