One of the winning projects in the first edition of the City of Montréal’s participatory budget, the Corridor écologique aims to protect nature in the city by connecting important biodiversity spaces in the boroughs of LaSalle and the Sud-Ouest. “Islands” of shrubs, mini-forests, and flowers were installed in green alleys and parks, enriching the urban plant heritage of these green spaces. The project’s brand identity was rooted in these biodiversity islands and represented by a logo whose graphic design evokes the eco-corridor’s implementation plans, and is further reflected in the actual shape of the interpretation panels. The whole concept was enhanced by a dazzling colour palette. A series of custom-drawn illustrations of flora and fauna further supported the corridor’s pedagogical content.
