Paprika is behind the graphic design of the McCord Stewart Museum’s new exhibition, Portraits and Fashion – Photographers from Quebec Across Borders, opening in spring 2024. The scenography, by Guillaume Kukucka, features 17 zones of contrasting colours, one for each artist, spread across the exhibition galleries. Large tone-on-tone lettering identifies the photographers and gives rhythm to the space. The centrepiece – the title wall of the exhibition – is an imposing fuchsia typographic installation, whose shapes and counter-forms create a play of shadows under the effect of the spotlights. This resolutely contemporary identity programme is also used in the Museum’s art book and promotional campaign.
