As part of glass artist Dale Chihuly’s exhibition, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts asked Paprika to design the first French written book dedicated to him. Inspired by his disproportionately sized works, we naturally created a large format book which would do them justice. We were also charmed by his bright colour palette, which we claimed for the flyleaves. A natural rhythm between the portfolio and the informative texts was created thanks to the use of glossy images for the former and of matte paper for the latter. We inserted small-size notebooks to separate sections and describe the context surrounding the work displayed in subsequent pages. Of course, flawless typographic was required to live up to such an ambitions editing project.
