With longevity and a consolidation of skills in mind, architect Alain Carle joined forces with five collaborators to become Atelier Carle. The studio’s new identity has an understated, minimalist, and monochromatic quality inspired by classics such as the Akziden-Grotesk fonts and includes the distinctive feature of a high x-height: a graphic approach that helps soften the relief created by the upper portion of the letters. The graphic platform highlights the studio’s inclusive conceptual approach and its process through the use of an almost motionless video of a construction site, capturing just the slightest movements of a given moment in time.
