By supporting in particular the development of Old Montreal and the Old Port, Montréal en Histoires makes it possible for Montrealers and visitors alike to discover, explore, and celebrate the city’s rich history. This nonprofit organization appointed Paprika for the creation of its visual identity program.
We drew inspiration from the archive images used by the organization in its projects and created an entirely black and white visual identity program. As the organization’s members are trying to shed light on the city’s secret history, we had fun in spacing out the signature’s letters unevenly so as to wink at the historical puzzle which faces them. As for the house silhouette, it makes reference to the prominence of architecture in the city’s history. Those few identity tricks resurface throughout the publications and various projects, thus giving Montréal en Histoires a lasting identity of its own.
