Domison is a furniture manufacturer whose philosophy is to offer sophisticated, unique, and innovative goods within the reach of most wallets. According to Domison, quality design is a right rather than a privilege. Invited to design the exhibition “Hochelaga mon amour”, Paprika created four posters representing symbols that characterize this less affluent neighborhood of Montreal: the pigeon, the fly, and the spiral staircase. This architectural aspect even inspired us an original typography made up of interlaced staircases. Silk-screened in red ink, the posters were suspended in store from clotheslines so that they could recall Hochelaga’s back alleys. Using stencils we also tagged a few posters to identify the work of the exhibiting artists. Moreover, tall box structures on which was written each present designer’s name were erected here and there.
