Les Allusifs / Minette Accentiévitch

Les Allusifs is a small editor that publishes works of fiction by European and North American writers. The artistic direction of each collection distinguishes its books from novels published by more commercial publishers. The publishing house commisionned Paprika for the graphic design of the Aventures de Minette Accentiévitch’s republication. To illustrate the sulphurous chivalry novel, we collaborated with the talented illustrator Gérard DuBois. Favouring the red and black typically associated with Les Allusifs, we typographically intervened to enhance the poetry, surrealism, and raw eroticism of Vladan Matijevic’s words. With Dubois’s complicity, we designed a book cover on which the protagonist reveals herself openly and without restraint. What is more, we unveiled a few pages of the illustrator’s sketchbook on the front pages. The tale of Minette’s carnal and existential adventures is laid down on a paper that evokes the skin of such a voracious maneater!
